No classes today and Wednesday for students of all schools in the areas affected by the bad weather. As decided by the Ministry of Education, there will be no distance learning today, given that a general holiday has been declared for today in the public and private sectors.
As announced by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education Alexander Koptis will not be held today Wednesday tele-education in areas where schools remain closed due to bad weather as there is neither administrative nor technical staff to support tele-education, due to the declaration of a special mobilization by the Civil Protection. In the non-affected areas, schools will operate normally.
On the first day that schools open, after the end of the bad weather in Attica and other affected areas, students will have to present a negative self-test. This means that if schools reopen from tomorrow Thursday, students will have to take a self test tonight and if they go on Friday tomorrow and so on.
In any case, new instructions will be given by the Ministry of Education for the conduct of self tests where the operation of schools has been suspended.
Closed universities
The University of Athens, the National Technical University of Athens, the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Panteion University, the Agricultural University and other higher educational institutions will remain closed today.
According to a statement from the National Technical University of Athens, the suspension of the educational operation of the NTUA has been extended for January 26 and 27, 2022, due to the adverse weather conditions and the serious problems that have been caused. With regard to the administrative operation, in addition to the general holiday announced for today Wednesday (26/1), on Thursday (27/1) employees will not come to their workplaces, except for security staff and service needs will be covered - if possible and unless a different central decision is made - by telework, in consultation with the heads of departments.
