[Cyprus Times] Clean Monday: One sunny, one cloudy and a few showers Forecast until Thursday

Weak low pressure affects the area. Thin dust will be suspended in the atmosphere until Tuesday, the concentrations of which are likely to be increased at times.

Today, periods of sunshine will alternate with periods of increased cloudiness, which is expected to become denser from the afternoon onwards, while isolated rain is possible locally. Winds in the morning will be northeast to southeast and in the west southwest, light, 3 Beaufort, becoming after noon southwest to northwest, generally moderate, 4 Beaufort and occasionally locally in the south and on the northern coast up to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will gradually become a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 19 degrees in the interior and on the coast and around 9 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated rain is possible, especially in the western half of the island. Winds will be mainly southwest to west and later locally to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort but initially locally moderate, 4 Beaufort. The sea will generally remain a little choppy, except off the east coast where it will be calm to a little choppy. Temperatures will drop to around 7 degrees inland, around 10 degrees on the southern and eastern coasts, around 12 degrees on the western and northern coasts and around 2 degrees on the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form.

On Tuesday, the weather will gradually become mainly cloudy while local showers are expected in the evening. On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be partly cloudy and mostly cloudy at times and localised showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly from Wednesday afternoon onwards, while snow is likely on the higher Troodos peaks.

Temperatures are not expected to show a significant change on Tuesday, to be slightly above average climatic values, while by Thursday they are expected to fall gradually, to be below average climatic values.

The snow depth at Troodos Square, at the time of writing, was 28 cm.
