At a time when our country is threatened by Turkish aggression and expansionism, we draw lessons from the sacrifices of our heroes, said ELAM President Christos Christou, on the occasion of the 48th annual memorial service of General Georgios Grivas Digenis, which was held in Limassol this morning.
In his statements after the end of the memorial service, Mr. Christou said that "today we honour the memory of General Georgios Grivas Digenis, the leader of the National Organization of Cypriot Fighters, the man who under his leadership, the Cypriot Hellenism wrote golden pages of glorious Greek history and on this struggle the Republic of Cyprus was created".
Today, he said, our country is threatened by Turkish aggression and expansionism and added that "we draw lessons of unanimity, we draw lessons of struggle from the sacrifices of our heroes and we continue on the same path."
