[/QUOTE]Charlatanism is spreading - Those who are ignorant of medicine but distribute drugs and claim to have supernatural powers - What the President of Personal Physicians denounces - "We inform the police about such incidents", says the President of the Ethics Committee of PISIS
Acts and deaths are denounced in the Cyprus Times by the President of the Association of Personal Physicians Andreas Polyneikes following the arrest of a pseudo-doctor in Nicosia for administering drugs of unknown origin to patients, without a license to practice his profession.
As he complains, the problem with charlatan doctors must be addressed immediately, as it is known that people who have nothing to do with medicine claim to have supernatural powers and allegedly treat patients with various remedies, or with a touch.

"They pretend to be doctors, acupuncturists, say they have magnetic abilities and treat patients with a touch. People fall victim to extremely dangerous people who have nothing to do with medicine," he said."
At the same time, Mr.Polyneikes suggested that we are definitely grieving people from these cases and it is something the public should be aware of.
"Every doctor gets a license from the Pancyprian Medical Association and he should be required where he works to have these licenses so that the public is aware of them. Also, everyone who respects themselves should know if they are visiting a real doctor, or someone who is ignorant," he said.
At the same time, speaking to the Cyprus Times, PIS Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Anastasiades made it clear that charlatanism is a phenomenon that must be stamped out.
"Various cases come before us and we immediately report them to the police for investigation. We make it clear that in most cases they involve people who have nothing to do with medicine" he said.
