The Embassy of Romania in Nicosia is organizing a series of events from the 1st to the 3rd of December for the Romanian National Day.
An Embassy press release states that on December 1 Romania will celebrate 104 years since the Great Union, a historic day dedicated to the memory of those who succeeded in uniting all Romanians into a single, independent and united state, as stated.
The Embassy of Romania will mark this historic moment with a series of events in Nicosia and Paphos dedicated to the Diaspora in Cyprus, as well as to the Cypriot people.
A delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of International Affairs of the Ministry of Culture of Romania will pay a visit to the island and on Thursday the Embassy will host a festive reception and a concert of Romanian folk dances and songs performed by the ensemble "Floricică de la Munte" for the representatives of the political, diplomatic, academic and business community in Cyprus. A second cultural event will also be hosted on Friday.
Moreover, on Saturday, the Embassy of Romania, in cooperation with the Municipality of Paphos, will organize another folklore concert of the ensemble "Floricică de la Munte" in Paphos.
