[CYPRUS TIMES] Britain recommends avoiding travel to Belarus

Britain announced today that it is recommending that its citizens avoid all but essential travel to Belarus.

As tensions escalate in the Ukrainian crisis, there is uncertainty over the Kremlin's intentions for the tens of thousands of troops taking part in exercises in Belarus, north of Ukraine, which are due to end on Sunday. Moscow has said they will return to Russia sometime after the drills, but has not specified when.

The new travel advisory was issued by the Forward Office.
