An alarm was raised on Saturday night in Congo when a bomb exploded[/B] inside a restaurant in the Beni district.

According to Reuters, the bomb exploded shortly after Catholic mass, and gunfire followed.

"There has been a reported loss of life. Security services have already been deployed and initial measures have been taken," Congo's government spokesman said in a post."

Initial reports suggest at least three dead.

The mayor of Beni, for his part, said: "There is a bomb that has just exploded in the city centre. For safety, I ask the population to stay at home."
