"Bells" in 16 establishments for safe pass and masks 13 citizens were reported for violation of COVID measuresIn the last 24 hours (from 06.00 on Monday until 06.00 today), 1.748 inspections were carried out throughout the country, in order to ascertain compliance with the measures and implementation of the provisions of the Infectious Diseases Law.
As a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters told the Cyprus News Agency, during the inspections there were 13 complaints from citizens and 16 complaints from the managers of establishments.
Regarding the checks by province, 477 checks were carried out in Nicosia, which resulted in 4 complaints from citizens and 10 complaints from establishments, 115 checks were carried out in Limassol, which resulted in 4 complaints from citizens and 3 complaints from establishments, and 496 checks were carried out in Larnaca, resulting in 3 complaints against establishments, in Paphos 110 checks were carried out, resulting in one citizen complaint, in Famagusta 389 checks were carried out, resulting in 3 citizen complaints, in the Morphou area 38 checks were carried out, resulting in one citizen complaint.
In addition, the traffic police carried out 111 checks nationwide, without any complaints. Of the 1,748 checks, 12 involved the Port and Maritime Police, with no complaints arising.
In response to a question regarding complaints at premises, the spokesman for the Police Headquarters Communication Branch said that in Nicosia, in 5 premises, an inspection revealed that managers were without a safepass, and exoneration orders were issued to three premises for €500, one for €750 and another for €1.000, in other establishments, a check revealed that employees were working without a safepass, and fines of €1.500 and €500 and in the other three establishments, an inspection revealed that people were working without a protective mask, and exonerations of €1,550, €500 and €1,500 were issued.
