For this particular incident in the forest of Thinas in Vartholomio, the dogs were found dead by a citizen, having eaten the poisoned birds (chewing gum) that had been deliberately left at the site by the perpetrators.
According to ERT, this event has alarmed hunters and residents of the area who often pass by the spot, showing them that they should be particularly careful in any excursion to the area.
Particularly for hunters visiting the area with their dogs loose around them, their caution should be constant.
