[Cyprus Times] Anastasios G. Street closed from January 26th and for 5 months Leventis in Nicosia

Closed for work from Wednesday 26 January 2022 at 08.30 and for a period of approximately 5 months will remain Anastasios C. Leventis, in Nicosia, reminds the Nicosia Municipality, urging drivers to be careful and follow traffic signals

As stated in an announcement by the Municipality, the works will be carried out as part of the redevelopment of the Makarios - Stasikratous - Evagorou Commercial Triangle - Phase B.

The project implements the provisions/actions of the Nicosia Integrated Mobility Plan and the Nicosia City Centre Area Plan to promote sustainable transport, enhance sustainable mobility in the urban area of Nicosia and reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions, it adds.

Among other things, the project includes the installation of a holistic "smart city" system, owned by the Nicosia Municipality. The project will result in the creation of an aesthetic and functional unified space, an external "shopping centre".

The project, the announcement concludes, is co-financed by the EU Cohesion Fund, the State Budget and the Municipality of Nicosia under the 2014-2020 Programming Period, Operational Programme: Competitiveness and Sustainable Development 2014-2020,- Specific Objective: improving mobility mainly in the urban area of Nicosia, Axis 5: Promoting Sustainable Transport and Reducing Carbon Dioxide Emissions.
