Koukoumas' statement:
"The United States of America is withdrawing its support for the EastMed pipeline, for which the government of the Coalition was staging fiestas and improvising a foreign policy of small-mindedness. As could have been predicted from the outset, the pipeline was technically extremely complex and very difficult to make economically viable. However, the Synergy was consciously fostering illusions among the Cypriot people.
One by one, all these illusions of DISY are crumbling. The EEZ was not shielded. The opening of Varosha was not a "communication ploy". European sanctions never came. And now the East Med plans are going down the drain. But every time, our country comes out damaged.
The silence of those responsible - N. Anastasiades, Averof N. and N. Christodoulides - is deafening."
