It's exclusively vegan and already sold out
This week, vegan meat brand THIS launched a Valentine's Day campaign that gained more audience and viral publicity than the company expected.
The interest was sparked by research that found people in the UK consider bacon one of the "sexiest smells."
The start-up based cited data collected from 1.000 Brits.
About one in three (32 percent) of them said that the smell of bacon is sexy and who can disagree?
This is what motivated THIS to create a vegan-only bacon fragrance - called THIS Eau Du.
The fragrance contains smoky, woody and savory aromas that are "guaranteed to seduce even the most carnivorous," a press release said, continuing: "It's the underdog of aphrodisiacs and one of the best things you can get your hands on this Valentine's Day."
Andy Shovel is the co-founder of THIS and an admittedly former "meat fanatic." He detailed the campaign in a statement, "We've had several raunchy and inappropriate suggestions from customers who have tried Isn't Bacon, so it makes sense for us Eau Du Isn't Bacon users to immediately become more engaging in our recommendations as a company."
The company manufactured 120 bottles of the fragrance, but it wasn't close enough to meet demand. THIS revealed in an email to Plant Based News that the quirky product sold out in just 20 minutes.
In total, more than 25,000 requests for the fragrance were received!
Before you can judge or wonder, the company will recreate this unique fragrance after so much demand. In a social media poll 69% want some more bacon and will have it...
