A liquor store[/B] was engulfed in flames on Tuesday afternoon[/B], in Paralimni.

According to the spokesman of the Fire Service, Andreas Kettis, at 18:50 a call was received for a fire in a liquor store on Protaras Kavo Greco Avenue in Paralimni.

To extinguish the fire, the Famagusta Fire Station Sergeant Adamou Adamou responded with a firefighting team and 4 fire engines and the fire was brought under control at 20:30.

At the time of the fire there were no people in the area.

From the fire and the heat, liquor items (drinks and other products) were burnt and the building was affected internally by the smoke.

The causes of the fire will be investigated later today, in cooperation with the Police.




It is noted that between 06:00 on 1 January 2022 and 06:00 on 2 February 2022, the Fire Service responded to 20 calls for assistance, 5 fires and 15 special services.
