Allian library of "human books" sharing their experiences to raise awareness for people with disabilities, will be open at the Conference Centre between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. today.
In her report before the plenary of the House of Representatives, which was conveyed by session chairman Zacharias Koulias, the Speaker of the House, Anita Demetriou, said that the "human library" will be operated in the reception area of the Convention Centre by the non-governmental organisation Human Library Cyprus."The Human Library," the Speaker said,"does not have books, but people willing to share their stories and experiences in order to combat prejudice and enhance the promotion of diversity. The human books available in this action are either directly or indirectly related to disability issues."
"All actions have been valuable experiences in raising awareness and understanding that the inclusion of persons with disabilities in every aspect of our lives is not easy, it takes collective and sustained effort but is a collective gain and a valuable opportunity for dignified coexistence," he concluded.
