The Cyprus Electricity Authority announces that the electricity supply will be interrupted on Wednesday 12 January 2022 between 08:00 am - 18:00 pm and on Thursday 13 January 2022 between the hours of 08:00 am - 16:00 pm in the following areas:
Xylotympou, Achna Forest, Ormideia, Ormideia and Xylotympou Livestock Areas, Xylotympou Industrial Area, Dhekelia British Bases, AHK Refugee Settlement (Dhekelia).
The outage concerns the execution of maintenance and upgrading works on equipment supplying the Dhekelia Desalination Plant and Medium Voltage equipment at the Dhekelia Transmission Substation.
"WHEREAS IT IS NOT PROVABLE THAT THE ELECTRICITY INTERRUPTION WILL CONTINUE FOR THE WHOLE TIME PERIOD REFERRED ABOVE, CONSUMERS SHOULD ASSUME THAT THEIR PREMISES ARE ENERGIZED, I.E. THAT THEY HAVE POWER FOR THE ENTIRE PERIOD OF TIME MENTIONED IN THE NOTICE".
The Authority regrets any inconvenience, but this outage is necessary to carry out urgent work on the medium voltage network switchgear and is being done on the occasion of the outage of the Dhekelia Desalination Plant which is also scheduled on these particular days for maintenance purposes.
