40-day jail sentence with 3-year suspension to 47-year-old woman who was "flying" at 155 km on a road with a limit of 50 km Before Famagusta District Court the 47-year-old woman heard the sentences

Before the Famagusta District Court today, the 47-year-old girl who was arrested on January 4 for driving a car at a speed of 155 km was presented before the Famagusta District Court, on a road in Famagusta district, where the speed limit is 50 kilometres per hour.

At the hearing of the case, the Famagusta District Court imposed on the 47-year-old, a 40-day prison sentence with 3 years' suspension, deprivation of a driver's licence for a period of 75 days and 6 penalty points.

It is recalled that the 47-year-old woman was driving her car on a road in the Deryneia area on January 4, around 9.50 pm, and was stopped by members of the Famagusta Traffic Police, who were conducting a traffic control in the area.

After the police members proceeded to arrest the 47-year-old woman for the offence of driving a vehicle at excessive speed, they drove her and her vehicle to the local Deryneia Police Station for further examinations, and she was then taken into custody.

While on the morning of the following day, the Police proceeded to register the case.
