A 33-year-old woman was taken into custody for a case of illegal possession of property and stabbing.
According to a spokesman for the Paphos Police Directorate, yesterday at 21:40 it was reported that there is a female suspect in Tala for a burglary case, who was named.
When a patrol from the Paphos Police Directorate went to the scene, a citizen who had reported the suspect woman to the police, handed over to the police a military type knife with a 10cm blade which he said was allegedly in the possession of the suspect and from whom she had wrestled it. Meanwhile, a parked vehicle was spotted outside the complainant citizen's residence, which was found to be owned by the suspect.
The citizen said that when he returned to his residence he noticed two persons with lanterns who, when they were noticed, fled. From the complainant's residence various items worth 725 euros were allegedly stolen.
Further investigations by the police revealed that a sliding window of the residence
was broken
through which the alleged perpetrators gained entry to the residence.[/P]After investigations, police officers proceeded to locate a woman, 33 years old, who was taken to her car. During a subsequent search of her vehicle, evidence including various motorcycle items, plastic gloves, a television and a knife were located and recovered.
At 22:00 yesterday, the 33-year-old was arrested and taken into custody for the offences of unlawful possession of property and stabbing and is in custody.
Investigations into the case are continuing.
