The Court of Cassation made an immediate registration yesterday, sitting in Nicosia, regarding the case of the registration of an infant from an African country, with a trial date of March 14, 2022. [/B]
Specifically, a mother of African origin with her newborn went to the Nicosia District Administration with a European citizen, who claimed to be the biological father of the newborn to register him, but suspicions were raised about the authenticity of the documents presented.
For the three suspects, the Criminal Court ordered that they be released on the following conditions:
1st person: €7,000 cash or signing a €15,000 surety bond with a reputable guarantor, to surrender travel documents, to present himself every day at a certain time at a certain Police Station, to reside in a certain street and his details to be placed on the STOP - LIST.
2nd person: €3,000 cash or sign a guarantee of €15,000 with one or two creditworthy guarantors, produce travel documents, present himself every day at a specific time at a specific Police Station and his details will be placed on the STOP - LIST.
3rd person: €3,000 personal bail.
The first and second person will remain in custody as so far they have not fulfilled the conditions set by the Court of Cassation.
The case is being investigated by the Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau, in cooperation with the Nicosia CID and the HQ YAM.
