The Nicosia District Court today issued a seven-day detention order against three persons, who were arrested for facilitating investigations into an ongoing case of car arson.
The three, aged 22, 21 and 18, were arrested yesterday under court warrants issued against them in connection with a case of car arson that occurred, as reported in a previous Cyprus Times article,[/URL] at dawn on March 7, 2022, in Nicosia.
Specifically, at 5am. of March 7, a fire broke out[/B] in a car owned by a 41-year-old woman, which was parked on a Nicosia road.
Members of the Police and the Fire Service attended the scene and extinguished the fire. Subsequent investigations determined that the fire was set maliciously. The fire destroyed the front part of the vehicle.
Nicosia CID is investigating the case.
