Prison sentences were imposed today on two persons,a man and a woman aged 25 and 24 years old respectively, whom the Limassol District Court found guilty for the arson of an apartment in Limassol.
The Court imposed a two and a half year prison sentence on the 25-year-old man and a twelve month prison sentence on the 24-year-old woman.
The arson was committed on August 06, 2021, around 1.00 pm, in an apartment building. Members of the Fire Service, with the assistance of four fire engines, extinguished the fire, which caused extensive damage to the apartment.
From the examinations conducted by the Limassol Police Department, testimony against the 25-year-old man and the 24-year-old woman, who lived in the apartment in question, was obtained.
Arrest warrants were secured against them, under which they were arrested and detained on August 07, to facilitate the interrogations.
The case was investigated by the Limassol CID.
