Police in Paphos on Sunday arrested a 34-year-old woman who had been put on a stop list for an investigated case of illegal drugs possession with intent to supply.
The 34-year-olds arrest came on the heels of the arrest of a 24-year-old woman on Saturday, for allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs to a 31-year-old man held in custody at the Polis Chrysochous police station, for a case of domestic violence.
During a body search the 24-year-old woman was found with 0.3 grams of methamphetamine hidden in a shampoo shampoo bottle, as well as a plastic sachet with a further 0.2 grams of the substance in her bra.
When questioned, the 24-year-old said the drugs found in her undergarment had been procured for her own use by the 34-year-old.
As for the drugs found in the shampoo bottle, the 24-year-old stated that she had received the supplies from the 34-year-old unaware of the contents, under instruction to deliver them to the 31-year-old who has, meanwhile, denied any involvement in the case.
A warrant was thereafter issued for the 34-year-old, and police arrested her on Sunday shortly before 2pm. When questioned, the woman denied involvement in the case.
The substances have been sent for scientific testing and the investigation is ongoing.
