A 24-year-old Larnaca resident was arrested yesterday, Sunday, for facilitating police investigations into an ongoing case of illegal possession, distribution and access to child pornography and offering or providing information about child pornography.
In a written statement from the Police Headquarters Communication Office, it is stated that "the investigation of the case began after information was received by the Police from Europol, according to which a certain user of a social networking platform uploaded three video files of sexual abuse of minors on the Internet."
It is added that "from the examinations of the Cybercrime Branch, evidence against a 24-year-old was secured.
