Unemployment in Spain fell significantly in 2021, dropping almost three percentage points to a level not seen before the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE) announced on Thursday.
The latest unemployment rate is slightly lower than that recorded before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some 3.19 million people were unemployed in December 2019, or 13.8% of the labour force.
