Two persons were spotted by the Paphos Traffic Police driving under the influence of drugs and for illegal possession of drugs.
According to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michalis Ioannou, around midnight members of the Pafos Traffic Police were conducting vehicle checks to prevent road accidents on Apostolou Pavlou Avenue in Paphos. As part of the checks, Mr Ioannou said, they stopped a car driven by a 35-year-old resident of Paphos for inspection. During the search, a small amount of cannabis was found in his possession and a subsequent drug test proved positive. A saliva sample was subsequently taken for a final drug test sample which will be sent to the State General Chemistry Laboratory for scientific tests.
He was subsequently charged in writing and dismissed to be summoned to court at a later date.
