Twenty-five students in six secondary schools in Paphos District are being supported this year by officers of the Direct Intervention Team, according to the Chief Secondary Education Officer of Paphos, George Koutsidis.
In a statement to CNA, Mr Koutsidis said that due to the increase in violence and delinquency, which is observed in schools as a consequence of the new socio-economic conditions, as well as the increase in incidents of school bullying, the District Education Office has been staffed with OAP (Direct Intervention Team) officers, who are tasked with the duty to intervene in incidents of violence and delinquency.
