Three persons, who allegedly belonged to a trafficking ring for the purpose of sexual exploitation, were arraigned before the Nicosia Permanent Criminal Court today, Tuesday, according to a statement issued by the Police Communications Branch.
It added that "the prosecution requested that the defendants remain in custody until the trial of the case but the Court ordered that they be released on conditions."
The complainant in the case is an 18-year-old girl, who after being handled by the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Bureau, evidence of victimisation was identified, based on which she was identified as a victim of trafficking in persons.
