The University of Cyprus has been vindicated by the Supreme Court, which overturned a first instance decision that found the University's decision not to promote an academic to the rank of Associate Professor illegal, which led to the termination of her employment.
The Supreme Court recently ruled that the procedure for the promotion of the academic in question was in accordance with the University's regulations.
In July 2019, the Administrative Court ruled that the University of Cyprus' decision not to promote the academic was unlawful.
