The survival of its members is a matter for the Pancyprian Association of Film Exhibitors, which, according to a statement, since the beginning of the pandemic, has sent a number of letters regarding sanitary measures to contain the coronavirus.
"There is now fatigue but also a need for survival," the association said, noting that "trampling and exploiting my profession is trampling and exploiting our lives."
It adds that in the 22 months of the pandemic, 12 months the cinema businesses were put out of business, 10 months were underperforming with losses, receiving "begging support from the state" while the lost income of the sector amounts to 15 million euros.
