[CNA] The Ministry of Education recommends to OELMEK to reflect on the real needs for teachers

The Ministry of Education comments on the public intervention of OELMEK on the issue of the employment of contract teachers, after stating that it is true that there are proportionally more contract teachers in the education system of Cyprus compared to the rest of the EU member-states, notes that there is a need to reflect on the match between actual needs - as indicated by the number of pupils - and the number of teachers employed.

The "easy" or even "automatic" solution would be, as the leadership of OELMEK claims, "the increase of permanent organic positions", says a statement of the Ministry.
