A historical relic of the sporting history of Cyprus is now included and adorns the collection of the Olympic Museum in the Olympic Hall. Following his decision, Dimitris Stelios Kyriakidis offered to the CIO the historic cup that the Detroit Michigan Cypriot community presented to Stelios Kyriakidis immediately after his victory in the Boston Marathon in 1946.
According to a statement by the COC, the cup adds to the other heirlooms from Stelios Kyriakides' collection that adorn the Cyprus Olympic Committee Museum, such as the jersey with the emblematic number 77, and the shoes he wore on his way to victory in Boston.
