The government welcomes the approval of the law on the establishment and operation of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority, noting that it will be a continuous effort to combat the phenomenon of corruption.

A statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic said that following the adoption of the law on the protection of whistleblowers at the end of January, another important step in strengthening the anti-corruption framework was taken yesterday with the adoption of the law on the establishment and operation of the Independent Authority against Corruption.

"The Government welcomes the passage of the bill by the House of Representatives and notes that efforts to combat corruption at every level must and will be sustained," the statement said.
