The Cyprus Police Association and PA.SY.D.Y. strongly condemn the attack on Thursday night by members of the Police who were carrying out a check in Limassol, following a complaint of harassment, express their full support and solidarity to their members and ask the competent authorities for their maximum and effective protection.
Such attacks constitute an attack on law and order and democracy and cannot be tolerated, they add, noting that no one and nothing can intimidate the members of the Police from continuing to zealously perform their duties to protect the community.
S.A.C. and P.SY.D.Y. finally take the position that in order to prevent such incidents, harsher penalties may be imposed on offenders, adding
