The Consumer Protection Agency has announced that it has issued an administrative decision and imposed an administrative fine of €50,000 against Love Island Travel & Tours Ltd for breaching the Package Travel and Related Travel Arrangements Act.
As explained in the notice, following an investigation by the Consumer Protection Agency, it was found that there was a violation of Article 16 of the Law as in the period January - June 2020 it was found that the company did not provide effective protection against insolvency and a violation of Article 26 of the Law as, during the investigation, the company did not provide the Commissioner's Office, within a timely manner, with documents and information that had been requested and related to specific package tour contracts.
