Senegal won the first Africa Cup of Nations trophy in their history, after two failed attempts in the past (2002 and 2019), tonight.
After a thrilling final, played in Yaoundé and decided in the penalty shootout, Aliou Cisse's side beat the reigning champions Egypt 4-2 (0-0 in regulation and extra time) to celebrate their maiden title in the competition.
After four straight matches that went to extra time and two penalty shootout wins (Cameroon and Ivory Coast), this time the "Pharaohs" did not succeed in the "Russian roulette".
