No progress has been made on the issue of restoring the 27 posts to restore the staffing of the Forestry Department to "tolerable and safe levels under the circumstances" says the Forestry Department Employees' Branch - PA.SY.D.Y. announcing that it has decided to proceed to escalate the measures "in accordance with the mandate of the overwhelming majority of the members of the Branch". The Branch's Board of Directors has called on its members to refrain, as of Monday, January 31, 2022, from any overtime work and special hours, with the exception of forest firefighting.

"At the same time that our request is being handled solely for communication purposes, both by the Ministry of Finance and by the Ministry of GAP, new responsibilities and responsibilities are being placed on the backs of the already overburdened and exhausted forestry personnel," it says.
