Their opposition to the plans of the Department of Public Works and the Limassol Municipality to create a roundabout at the intersection of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue and Agia Fylaxeos Street (Café Pari lights), were expressed by citizens who held a protest in the area of the Laniteia schools, whose playground and greenery will be affected by the project.

In a statement during the protest, which was initiated by the Ecologists' Movement - Citizens' Co-operation, the President of the Limassol Greek Schools Ephorate, Dinos Ellinas, stressed that the Lanitis legacy, according to an earlier decision of the Supreme Court on the 3rd Urban, cannot be expropriated, not even by a decision of the Council of Ministers.

"Our decision is negative, because we are not convinced that this project will serve the city," he said.
