Under the urgency procedure, the proposal to extend the exceptional supply of pharmaceutical products from the United Kingdom to EU countries that are heavily dependent on this market, including Cyprus, was presented today before the plenary session of the European Parliament.
Specifically, as explained by Cypriot MEP Dimitris Papadakis, after the end of the Brexit transition period and after the UK did not proceed with the adaptation of the protocols concerning the pharmaceutical market in the EU, the Commission presented the proposal for a three-year extension of the exceptional supply of medicinal products to Cyprus, Malta, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The proposal concerns two categories of medicinal products: preparations for use by humans originating from the United Kingdom
