The Department of Defense is moving forward with programs to significantly upgrade capabilities in intelligence collection, situational awareness, and countering specific threats, including enhancing air defense, meeting modern operational requirements, Defense Minister Charalambos Petrides stressed in his address at the ceremony of awarding swords to new National Guard officers who came from the ranks of non-commissioned officers.
Petridis said that "Turkey is intensifying its provocations and is methodically creating new deadlocks with its actions".
