A possible modification of the Limassol port contracts in order for the state to release part of the receipts from the contractors will need approval from the European Commission, the Audit Office says.

Yesterday, DISY President Averof Neophytou made public a proposal to the Transport Minister for the state to forgo the part of the increase due to it from the increases imposed by the contractors at the Limassol port, so that traders and consumers do not bear the cost.

In a post on Twitter today, the Audit Office said that "on the possibility of amending the Limassol Port contracts to allow the state to divest part of its receipts from the contractors, EY will take a position when this is brought before the CECA (Central Committee for Changes and Claims)".
