Perhaps the increase in the number of cases observed in recent days is due to Omicron 2, the member of the Scientific Advisory Committee, Professor of Microbiology/Molecular Virology at the University of Nicosia Medical School, Dr Petros Karagiannis, told CNA, noting however that this needs to be investigated with further identification of samples.
The Professor said that we have an outbreak which was most evident on Tuesday with 3 thousand cases which is more than the 2.5 thousand cases we had on average the previous week. So, he noted, we are moving upwards at the moment.
