The labour peace in the ports of Limassol and Larnaca may be put into new adventures again, following the rejection by the dockworkers of the mediation proposal of the Minister of Labour for an agreement to renew the Collective Agreement, which expired on 31 December 2020.
As union sources told CNA, in yesterday's General Assemblies of the dockworkers, members of the SEK and PEO, held in the two ports, it was decided to reject the proposal sent on Wednesday by the Minister, but not in its entirety, but in specific points concerning the retroactivity and implementation dates of some increases.
At the same time, it was decided that, as a first reaction to the delay in the renewal of the Collective Agreement, as of next Monday, the port workers will refrain from any overtime work,
