Police seized more than 850 firecrackers, believed to have been transported from the occupied to the free areas of the Republic, by a 27-year-old man who is under investigation for possession and transport of explosives.
In a statement, the communication branch of the Police said that "at around 12.30 yesterday at noon, a member of the Police proceeded to check the driver of a certain vehicle, who was driving in the area of Larnaca district, however, the driver developed speed to escape the check.
