The securing of the €657 million EU grant for the EusoAsia Interconnector project paves the way for the implementation of the electricity interconnection between Cyprus, Greece and Israel, which will end Cyprus' energy isolation, said Energy, Trade and Industry Minister Natasha Pileidou, welcoming yesterday's decision by the European Commission.
In her remarks today, Pileidou also said that the amount of the grant approved for the EuroAsia Interconnector is the largest ever secured historically for a project of the Republic of Cyprus.
