The Association is sounding the alarm to football players, members of PASP, regarding the risks of non-compliance with the provisions of the Law on Combating Manipulation of Sports Events, on the occasion of the conviction of a football player who bet on a football match of his team.
According to a PASP statement, according to the legislation, in addition to match manipulation and bribery for altering the result of a match, a criminal offence is also committed when football players or agents bet on matches of their team or on matches of other teams in a competition in which their team participates. The penalties for this type of illegal betting are imprisonment of up to 3 years or a fine of up to €75.
