A suspect on trial for burglary and theft allegedly assaulted a police officer on the transfer order at Paphos General Hospital.
Specifically, a case of assault against a police officer, common assault, assault causing actual bodily harm, is being investigated by the Paphos Police against a 36-year-old suspect for burglary and theft cases.
According to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michalis Ioannou, on Saturday at 10:30, while a constable was on duty at the Paphos Central Police Station detention facilities and was escorting outside the men's ward a detainee to be transferred to Paphos General Hospital, another detainee, aged 36, who is a suspect in burglary and theft cases, allegedly went to the door of the detention centre and allegedly attacked him and pushed him with his hands, causing abrasions on both his hands .
