Osteoporosis is diagnosed with the help of the DEXA test, but the decision for treatment is made by doctors with expertise in the subject, who study the result of the test together with each individual, taking into account the risk factors that may exist, says the Cyprus Rheumatology Society in a statement, specifying that the doctors who specialize in the treatment of osteoporosis are rheumatologists and endocrinologists.
As stated, the Rheumatology Society made the announcement in order to clarify certain points on the issue of osteoporosis in response to recent press reports on the subject.
