The operator of the German-Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, based in the Swiss canton of Zug, has declared bankruptcy and dismissed its 106 employees, Sylvia Talman-Gut, the canton's financial affairs officer, announced tonight in an interview with public television.

"We were informed today that this company could not continue," Talman-Gut said.

"It was forced to declare bankruptcy and its employees received their letter of dismissal," she explained to SRF.
