With the lecture of the Emeritus Professor of Prehistoric Archaeology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Mrs. Eleni Mantzourani, on "Once upon a time ... in Cyprus. The Neolithic period: new data and perspectives", the new annual lecture series "The Archaeology of Cyprus" began on Thursday 3 March 2022, at the House of Cyprus in Athens.
Speaking at the lecture, Professor Mantzourani stressed that "since the pioneering archaeological activities of the Swedish Mission in Cyprus and then of the father of Cypriot prehistory, Porphyry Dikeios, research on the Neolithic period in Cyprus has made great progress. In particular, in the last thirty years, archaeological excavation and surface surveys have brought to light new sites that offer important information about the structure of society,
