Withdrawal of the Regulations under consideration for the official vehicles of officials was given by the President of the Republic to the Minister of Finance to satisfy the sense of justice.
As stated in a written statement by Government Spokesman Marios Pelicanos, President Nicos Anastasiades noted that the decision to table the Regulations on the official vehicles of officials was taken in the context of an agreement with the trade unions for the gradual restoration of benefits in the public sector, and after a request by the trade union body of the General Managers.
In taking this decision, it was taken into account that the additional budgetary cost of this benefit would be limited since it would not require the acquisition of any vehicle.
