High inflation in the EU is a matter of concern and must be addressed with the appropriate monetary tools, Finance Minister Constantinos Petrides said in an intervention on Saturday at a Glaucus Clerides Institute conference on the future of Europe.
Petrides first referred to the achievements of our accession to the EU and said by way of example that if in 2013 we were not in the EU and we were not part of the great achievement of the euro, with a currency like the lira, we would be experiencing what Turkey is experiencing today.
